Wadi Darbat

The mighty Wadi Darbat lies on the eastern side of the Salalah Plain and has a dramatic 800 yard cliff wall across its entrance down which pour millions of gallons of water in the rainy season. The wadi itself is green and fertile and has large areas of standing water for much of the year. Many go to great lengths to praise the beauty of the wadi but however pretty it looks  the webmaster went to school near the Forest of Bowland in Lancashire and it isn't a patch on that.  The head of the wadi divides up into many smaller wadis. The Darbat was one of the strongholds of the insurgents.
